01How we approach it
The schema is the product decision nobody revisits.
Most of the expensive problems in a web application trace back to choices made in the first fortnight — how tenancy works, where money is modelled, what happens to a long-running job when the request has already returned. Those decisions are cheap to get right at the start and brutal to unwind at scale.
We have shipped multi-tenant SaaS, marketplaces with split payments and tax, subscription platforms with SSO and SAML, and portals running background pipelines under real load. That history is the reason the first thing we produce is an architecture note rather than a sprint plan.
