01How we approach it
The app is the easy half.
A React Native build is rarely what sinks a mobile project. What sinks it is the API that was scoped for a web client, the push infrastructure nobody owned, the in-app purchase flow discovered two weeks before submission, and the real-time layer that works fine until forty people join at once.
We have shipped apps with video calling, live chat, leaderboards and store billing on both platforms — with the Rails or Node backend built in the same engagement, by the same people. One team, one set of decisions, no integration standoff.
